POSITION OBJECTIVES
Takeda’s summer internship program blends real world experience with an extensive overview of the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The summer internship program is 12 weeks in length and offers a unique perspective into a world-class pharmaceutical company. Compensation is competitive, and financed temporary housing is available to those who qualify. Our internship program also provides you the opportunity to network with people at Takeda through various planned events and activities.
Support Takeda’s Global R&D Communications team in helping to enhance engagement with R&D employees globally and distinguish Takeda as a leader in drug discovery and development.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Creation of stories and ongoing content development, design and management for our core internal communication channels, including but not limited to SharePoint sites, weekly R&D newsletters and Yammer
Event planning and support to coordinate logistics and materials for annual R&D leadership meeting, R&D town hall meetings and other internal employee engagement events
Creation and design of social media and website content
Coordination, information sharing, and content creation related to external engagement and thought leadership on behalf of R&D senior leaders
Support the review and distribution of the daily R&D monitoring report
Support development of quarterly metrics report
Build and organize R&D video and image libraries
Education, Behavioral Competencies And Skills
Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited university for the semester before and immediately following the internship.
Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and have completed at least their sophomore year or be a graduate level student pursuing either a PharmD or Master’s degree
For Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students, a major in a healthcare, pharmacy or life science field is preferred.
Previous internship/experience in a communications/marketing role is preferred.
Excellent writing skills
Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel and other Microsoft Office programs is preferred
Proficiency in social media platforms (primarily LinkedIn and Twitter)
Knowledgeable with Intranets, content writing for websites
Interest in graphic design/visual communications
Global mindset to thrive in a diverse work environment
Self-motivated, show adaptability, creativity and good judgment
Problem-solver, with ability to escalate issues
Comfortable challenging status quo and bringing forward new ideas for communications activities, reaching target stakeholders
Strong communication and leadership skills
