General Description/Scope Of Responsibilities (Internship)

Interns will gain hands-on experience with biopharmaceutical industry projects and studies under the guidance of a Data Science and Operational Excellence (DSOE) mentor, using actual data to address real problems in a stimulating, collaborative and supportive environment.

Project areas include performing data input, organization, cleaning/reconciliation across different data sources and databases, developing visualization tools and supporting research activities and conducting exploratory data analysis and modeling.

Interns are expected to participate in the internship for 40 hours per week. As part of the internship program, interns will give an oral presentation summarizing their work.

Essential Functions Of The Internship

Data input, organization, cleaning/reconciliation across different data sources and databases Develop and program visualization tools to support drug discovery and development projects Prepare oral presentations and written reports and communicate results to the project teams Discuss findings through powerpoint presentations

Education Required

Undergraduate students entering junior year or above or graduate students from a research university/college or institute, in Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Life Sciences or other relevant subject; GPA at least 3.0

Computer Skills: R, SAS, Python, Java

Other Qualifications: Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and teamwork skills, problem-solving skills, self-management skills, proficiency with MS Office

Travel: Not required
