Retail Marketing – Channel Development Intern

This area of Sony Interactive Entertainment is a key revenue contributor and continues to evolve with the industry to build new business opportunities. The Role

Reporting to the Retail Marketing Strategy Leadthe Channel Development Intern will work to develop and deliver programs aimed to advance our Channel development business. You will provide marketing support to key business channels like PC, Telco and Digital at Retail in North America. You will work on channel marketing efficiency testing, customer segmentation, insights, preference, competitive landscape, and local market conditions all leading toward to identify incremental sales opportunities. You will help drive rapid new business sales growth and strategy in conjunction with Sales Operations to effectively execute Go-To-Market strategy. You will also combine structured thinking anchored in data, communication and influencing, and cross-functional project implementation and change management at scale.

The ideal candidate is a hardworking and dynamic teammate, with a strong attention to detail, an analytical mind and someone who can push things forward in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Participate in the developing, managing and implementing marketing strategies and plans for assigned campaigns and product launches.
  • Bring strategy to life by developing assigned communications initiatives within the full marketing mix – creative, media, content.
  • Assist in the development of consumer insights to develop effective communication strategies and consumer messaging that resonates at retail.
  • Track and manage communication initiatives through 360 campaign development process.
  • Own and maintain ongoing communications calendar. Collaborate with Retail Marketing and Brand teams to ensure all communications initiatives are accounted for and make recommendations on how to best phase communications initiatives to retail.
  • Provide weekly/monthly dashboard to monitor campaigns. Conduct and share campaign post-mortems with broader retail and brand marketing teams.
  • Extend marketing messaging priorities into all retail banners.

Experience & Skills:

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and/or within 1 year of their post-graduation date
    • Proven ability to drive process improvement from building sales programs to drive business growth with end-to-end ownership from ideation to goal achievement.
    • Experience problem solving and being a “connector” across teams through supporting a program against KPIs through completion.
    • Passionate – Creative and upbeat teammate who embraces change and a desire to continually improve.
    • Commercial – Inventive in finding solutions to business problems. Solid ability to execute on strategic vision with a keen sense to activate tactical initiatives, simultaneously. Innate ability to understand and articulate market performance, analyze, and come to optimized business solutions including tailored promotions and campaigns.
    • Agile – Ability to develop recommendations to constantly evolving market dynamics and conditions. Proven ability in applying various techniques to develop successful market strategies.
    • Collaborative – Strong communication skills with a proactive attitude. Delivery focused. Forward thinking and proven experience in the ability to plan, collaborate, negotiate and provide an optimal business solution.
    • Mindful – Able to work on a team that crosses multiple countries and time zones. Flexibility and capacity to collaborate with global counterparts and global business operations.
    • Highly proficient in collaboration tools, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
