Firm Overview: Fast growing small capitalization focused equity research firm is looking for an entrepreneurial research associate to help build out coverage universe and assist with business development. In addition to excellent financial valuation and analysis abilities, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Required Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Financial modeling experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Factset
• Strong presentation and sales skills
• Proficient in Mandarin preferred
• Progress towards CFA preferred
• Self-starter with ability to work independently
Day To Day Activities: This role offers tremendous responsibility and client interaction. Interns will be responsible for writing equity research initiation and update notes, building financial models (discounted cash flow, comparable company analysis etc.) general research functions. The intern will also be responsible for helping to develop company marketing and pitch material including detailed industry or company overviews. The intern will also be able to assist on the sales side by sending out pitch material alongside the sales team to potential clients and will receive a commission based on successful sales. There will be significant client interaction, not seen at larger firms and exposes intern to all areas of equity research: modelling, writing, and client development. Interns supervised by the founder have gone on to top investment banks and hedge funds. The intern will become intimately familiar with equity research and get to work on numerous active research projects.
