51-200

The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is home to one of Washington’s most renowned and respected internship programs. Every year, AEI hosts between 175 and 200 interns, averaging between 60 and 70 interns each semester — spring, summer, and fall. AEI is currently seeking a full-time intern program coordinator to join the Talent Development team and take over this robust internship program.

AEI’s internship program has been reviewed and ranked numerous times as one of the top 100 internship programs in the nation by Princeton Review and Vault Guide to Top Internships. Responsibilities for the coordinator of this program include recruiting and hiring interns, managing daily operations, and creating strategic program development. Additional responsibilities include event planning, onboarding and off-boarding procedures, and conducting intern orientations. He or she will also participate in various other Talent Development projects as needed.

The ideal candidate is well organized, energetic, creative, and mature. He or she must possess excellent communication, leadership, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. The ability to multitask, effectively interact with employees on all levels, and maintain a high level of confidentiality are also essential. A bachelor’s degree is required; interest in public policy is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of related professional experience in Washington, DC. Qualified applicants should submit a resume, cover letter, academic transcript(s), and writing sample to www.aei.org/jobs.
