Description
As a Software Development Intern, you will provide support to our devops team. Not only will you work as an individual contributor, but also as a team player across multiple teams. You will interact with a diverse team and support QMSC’s client engagement team leaders across industries and products.

Requirements:
- The Software Development Intern will lead or contribute on one or more projects in the following areas:
- Work on agile projects, participate in daily SCRUM calls, provide task updates and work on all elements within the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Develop and maintain internal project documentation
- Create and cleanse demos, tools, visuals, and analyses for QMSC client-facing situations
- Encourage collaborative efforts and camaraderie with on-shore and off-shore team members
Skills & Experience
- SQL Server programming languages
- Visual Studio
- CSS, PHP and HTML
- Ability to work well within a team, particularly in a virtual mode with remote resources
- Ability to meet project timelines
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Flexible and adaptable
- Passion for aviation and technology
- Ability to learn quickly
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field 12 months of graduation or graduated within the last 12 months.
Work Authorization:
- Some projects will require a background check for security compliance
- US citizenship or work permit authorization
Intern will:
- Identify project or select available project(s)
- Scope and define requirements
- Author user stories for client / product owner
- Direct designer for produce wireframes
- Author QA test cases
- Leverage JIRA to plan development and plan sprint
- Complete development
- Resolve bugs identified in QA
- Collect feedback from user acceptance testing
- Resolve issues
- Report weekly on project progress
- Gain valuable, career focused experience working in a production development environment for a growth-stage start-up.
QMSC output is:
- Added to shortlist for upcoming devops roles
- Letter of recommendation referencing the successful completion of intern’s project(s)
- Experience and working knowledge gained with tech stack
- Impact / outcome of the intern’s project
- Program Term and Weekly Commitment
Part-time program:
- 3 to 4-month commitment
- 20 – 30 hours a week
Full-time program:
6-month commitment
40 hours a week
Work Environment
Option to work remotely or in our beautiful modern high-rise office in Downtown Houston.
Some projects will require using QMSC supplied hardware.
