Internships in the Division of Research and Statistics (R&S) provide students with the opportunity to gain valuable experience, network with peers in the field, and to work side-by-side with our economists and analysts in support of the Board’s important research and policy work. The program is designed to help students develop quantitative analysis, critical thinking, and programming skills through your summer experience.
As a data science intern in the Flow of Funds section of Research & Statistics, you will help the section develop new tools to produce and visualize the internal production of the Financial Accounts database. The section currently has tools to create and view tables, and separate tools to edit the data and the internal metadata. You will work directly with our analysts and PhD economists to improve these under a unified tool that allows the user to view a table and make edits to the data and the underlying metadata directly from it.
The internship will last 10-12 weeks and will either be conducted virtually, or in-person in Washington, D.C.
