留学生眼里的美国职场是什么样子?(终)

最后一期就和同学们精短的总结一下投行的一些“内部”招聘标准和细节,今年春招想要试试投行的同学们建议收藏转发。

Q1. 投行的一些“内部”筛选人才标准?

针对普通应届毕业生的话:(> 意味着“重要”的意思)

a) 北美长期/多次实习经验> 一次北美暑假实习经验> 国内知名企业

b) Location > 综合排名 (商学院除外)

c) Internship & Leadership experience > GPA

Q2.投行的招聘时间线是怎样的?

每年招聘高峰期9月-感恩节前;2-4月

Q3.哪几个具体的岗位或者部门留学生具有一定的竞争力?

其实我觉得如果你对一个领域足够有兴趣,“足够想要”是最大的竞争力。

专业而已的话,如果是计量类别的部门通常喜欢招advanced degree,但不排除本科学历,一些基本的金融知识,现在coding 也是很重要的一项技能,还有清楚阐述/present成果的能力。

如果是综合性专业的话,考察的是一个综合实力,你的背景,实习经历,能力,谈吐,视野都在考核范围内。

还有你这个人的性格也是在考察范围内,因为毕竟是和人工作,大家都喜欢招一个有趣的人一起工作。

Q4. 对那些想要进投行的留学生们的一些专业意见?

多实践,多花点时间去找工作,不要死磕GPA。

follow market, and generate critical thinking.

最后还想和同学们分享一点,很多同学会觉得进投行难或者觉得有绿卡会更容易进投行等等一系列主观感受。

诚然,中国有句老话叫“有钱可使鬼推磨”,你是某某投行里某某超级大客户的孩子,你家里的背景或许真的能帮助你进入这个领域。

但除去这些凤毛麟角,从我自身经历和现在从业内角度来看那些专业知识硬,努力奋斗,ambitious,交流能力okay的普通留学生也一样能进入这个领域大放异彩。

不要觉得难就不去做,不要让主观感受带偏自己。如果真的热爱真的想要,你一定能进投行!
